About HiPerformance Culture
HiPerformance Culture is a publication about how people think, decide, learn and perform — built on the primary research literature rather than on anecdote.
Why this exists
Most writing about performance and cognition cites a study it has not read, or repeats a claim that traces back to a press release, a single small trial, or nothing at all. Findings get louder as they travel and lose their caveats on the way. By the time an idea reaches a blog post, the qualification that made it true has usually fallen off.
This site is an attempt to do the opposite: go to the paper, cite the paper, and say honestly how strong the evidence actually is.
The standard we hold ourselves to
Authority here does not rest on a byline. It rests on sources you can check yourself.
Every source used across the site is registered once in a single citation registry, deduplicated by DOI and reused by key, so one paper carries one record everywhere it appears — and a correction to that record propagates across every article that cites it. As of 28 July 2026 the registry holds 6,991 sources drawn from 1,529 distinct journals.
6,785 of them — 97.1% — are machine-verified against Crossref. That check is deliberately strict: it requires the registered title to match the title Crossref returns for the DOI, because a DOI that merely resolves proves nothing about whether it resolves to the paper we meant. A correct-looking link to the wrong study fails the check.
The remaining 206 sources are books, reports and web pages with no DOI. Nothing can machine-verify those, so we check them by hand and label them unverified rather than implying otherwise.
We publish those numbers, including the shortfall, because a verification process only means anything if it can fail — and ours has. An internal audit in July 2026 found live citations pointing to the wrong papers. We repaired every one and tightened the check, which is why it now demands a title match instead of a working link. The full method, and how to report an error, is in our Editorial & Corrections Policy.
What you will find here
503 articles across ten fields — brain health and bio-performance, decision science, leadership, identity, habits, rapid learning, flow, the arena, nutrition, and relationship neuroscience — alongside a glossary of defined terms, practical protocols, and self-assessments. The Ledger collects specific empirical claims and grades each by the strength of the evidence behind it, capping stated confidence at what that evidence actually supports.
Who is responsible
HiPerformance Culture was founded and is edited by Nas Khan, from the United Kingdom. Editorial responsibility for what runs here, how it is sourced, and what gets corrected rests there.
What this is not
We write about health, nutrition and performance, and none of it is medical advice. Research describes what happened on average in a study population; it cannot tell you what will happen to you, and it does not know your history or your medication. Talk to a qualified clinician before acting on anything you read here. See our Terms of Use.
Independence
No advertiser, vendor or partner has any say over our conclusions. Commercial relationships, when any exist, are disclosed in our Affiliate Disclosure — which today records that we carry no affiliate links at all.
